Community gathers to support Mary Barrack

Nearly 400 people gathered Thursday, April 18, at Dredge in Irvington to support Mary Barrack in her battle against cancer. The fundraising event was hosted by the restaurant.

Mary, a much loved, fun and charismatic bartender at Dredge, had to step away from behind the bar in January due to falling sick. While initially she kept her diagnosis quiet, her regulars began missing her and wondering why she hadn’t been around.

Once Mary started sharing news of her cancer diagnosis, a number of customers began making donations to help support growing costs of medical bills when they’d dine at the restaurant.
