Kilmarnock Police Department Sgt. Jordan Russell was one of 18 first responders and civilians presented a Kilmarnock Museum Lifesaving Award during an October 8 National Heroes Day Ceremony at Nacho Average Brewpub in Kilmarnock. Russell was recognized for his actions in saving a man from a burning house on May 31, 2024. Recipients were presented medals by Col. Harvey “Barney” Barnum as emcee Sarah Chakales of NBC Channel 12 called their names. The ceremony was held to honor those who have gone above and beyond to help their fellow man.
