The Heathsville Farmers Market will be held from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, October 19, at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville. As part of the market, the committee for the Northumberland High School (NHS) After Prom Party will host a Cow Patty Raffle.
The committee is selling raffle tickets that will be randomly assigned to a grid of 2-foot by 2-foot squares, said director Corinne Becker. The owner of the square where the honorary cow makes its first deposit on the grid can win $1,000.
Tickets are $10. Proceeds will be used to throw a fun, safe prom party for NHS students.
The market will offer fresh produce, meat, flowers, nursery plants, baked goods, eggs, canned goods, honey, roasted coffee and handcrafts. St. Stephens Episcopal Church will conduct a Blessing of the Animals at 10 a.m. The public is invited to bring pets.
