LANCASTER—Involuntary manslaughter and failure to render aid felony charges pending against a Richmond man for more than two years were nolle prossed Friday, October 30, in Lancaster County Circuit Court.
The request to not proceed with prosecution on the two felony charges by special prosecutor and King William Commonwealth’s Attorney Matthew Kite was the most recent in a long list of twists in this case, which began over three years ago when the body of Graham McCormick of Atlanta was found in Carter Creek. McCormick’s death was ruled a drowning due to trauma sustained in a boating accident after he and John Randolph “Rand” Hooper took the Hooper family’s boat out for a late night ride.
