HEATHSVILLE—Crista Ida Charlotte WeiShaupt Tapscott, 85, of Heathsville passed away on August 22, 2025.
She was born in Berlin, Germany, on February 6, 1940, to Werner H. and Margarete VonBrandt WeiShaupt. She immigrated to the U.S. in 1956 and became a naturalized citizen on January 14, 1987.
Christa was preceded in death by her parents; and her sons, Joseph Dan Tapscott and Michael Chichester Tapscott; and her granddaughter, Julie T. Kellum.
She is survived by a grandson, Michael Gregory Tapscott; great-grandchildren, Lilith Eve Kellum and Edward Michael Kellum; and her niece, Karen Hall.
Services will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials made to Cat Cove, Inc., PO Box 112, Mollusk, VA 22517, or www.catcove.org, in honor of “Baxter” her beloved cat.
