Curtis M. Haywood

MONASKON—Curtis M. Haywood, 86, of Monaskon passed away on May 27, 2018. He was a U. S. Army veteran and served in the Korean War.

He is survived by his daughters, Brenda H. Barron (Randy) of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Marianette H. Crandall (Leroy) of White Stone; four grandchildren, Martha Crandall-Smith, Tyler L. Crandall, Nathan B. Barron and Allison M. Cathcart; five great-grandchildren; sister, Rubinette McCarty (Frank); brother, Franklin Haywood (Virginia); former wife, Jean S. Chubb; two nieces; one nephew; cousins; special friends; and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank F. and Marion P. Haywood.

Curtis was a retired waterman, an avid gardener and a member of the American Legion, Post #86 and Bethel United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 30, at Currie Funeral Home, Kilmarnock. Interment followed the service at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery, Lively. Family received friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
