WHITE STONE—Cynthia Elizabeth Oliver-Johnson of White Stone died August 21, 2018. She was born June 17, 1955.
Cynthia was educated in the New York public school system. She worked for Grumman Aircraft Engineering Corporation and later enlisted in the U.S. Army, where she earned outstanding awards in sharp shooting and track and field.
She was honorably discharged after three years of service and later received her culinary license from the New York Restaurant School.
She was predeceased by her father, George Oliver; brother, Anthony Edwards; and husband, James Johnson.
She is survived by her daughter, Keeyuma Blackwell; mother, Ruth Oliver; sisters, Sharon Oliver and Joyce Oliver; brothers, Michael Oliver, Ronald Oliver, Sam Oliver, Larry Oliver, Richard Oliver and Jimmy Oliver.
A funeral was held Tuesday, August 28, at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, White Stone.
