Danny Kensy and Cedar Creek to return; Stuck on a Name tonight

Music on the Half Shell Stage will bring back country music favorite Danny Kensy and Cedar Creek Thursday, September 19, at Town Centre Park, 150 North Main Street, Kilmarnock.

“With a little bit country and a little bit rock and roll you are going to enjoy these groups, they have a great variety of music and sound,” said Mayor Mae Umphlett.

From Richmond, Kensy and Cedar Creek are a Country Music Association group that offers original country, Top 40 country and classic rock at each performance, reported special events coordinator Ashley Jones.

Special guest Ken Sparks will open up the show at 6 p.m. As a composer, lyricist, musician and performer beginning at the age of 7, he has delighted audiences, famous entertainers and other dignitaries from all around the world, said Jones.

Food will be available on site from Ms. Barbra’s Hot Dog Cart, VA Blue Crab Co. & The Great Wicomico Oyster Co. Adult beverages will be for sale by Lancaster by the Bay Chamber of Commerce.

Admission is $10 per person. Ages 5 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult. Coolers and dogs are not allowed. The splash pad will not be operating during the concert. Chairs and blankets are welcome.

Tickets are available at www.kilmarnockva.ticketleap.com and at the gate.

The Stuck on a Name concert previously scheduled Saturday, September 7, was postponed to 6:30 p.m. tonight, September 12. The Fabulous Hubcaps concert previously scheduled for September 5 was canceled.
