DAR Good Citizen Awards announced

Each spring, Cobbs Hall Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution honors seniors from Northumberland and Lancaster high schools with their DAR Good Citizen Award.

The award is based on the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism, reported regent Michele Tucker. The student with the highest score is sent to the Virginia DAR District II in competition for their award.

Amaya Crabbe earned the top spot and her packet of essay, transcript, recommendations and questionnaire, was forwarded to District II. Crabbe has a grade point average of over 4.0 with dual enrollment classes at Northumberland High School.
