After serving in numerous roles with the Lancaster County school system, Dave Zeiler has been named the high school’s new athletic director.
Joanne Webb-Fary filled the position for four years and retired from teaching in 2016. She remained as the athletic director and three-sport coach for an additional year, and this year will give up her AD job but continue to coach cross country, girls basketball and track.
Zeiler has worn multiple hats since coming to Lancaster County in 1997, when he started working for the school system as a physical education teacher at the primary school. He moved to the middle school to teach physical education and health in 2006.
During his 20-year stint with the school system, he’s served as a junior varsity football and baseball coach, a varsity football assistant, a club and middle school wrestling coach, for 15 years as varsity softball coach and for 18 years varsity volleyball coach. For the last 10 years, he has been the middle school athletic director, overseeing golf, soccer, wrestling, softball, baseball, cheering and girls and boys basketball programs.
He has a master’s in administration and a bachelor’s in physical education and health.
