LANCASTER—David Allen Stevens, 61, of Lancaster passed away peacefully at home in his sleep surrounded by his loved ones on September 20, 2021. He will be loved and missed dearly.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Betty S. Stevens; children, Samantha Sheppard and Roy Stevens (fiancé, Jessica Pittman); grandchildren, Will and Phoebe Sheppard; two brothers, Thomas Stevens Jr. (Eunice) and Michael Stevens Sr. (Bonnie); Aunt Fanny and many nieces, nephews, cousins and lots of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Thomas E. Stevens Sr. and Brenda R. Stevens; and sister, Joyce Raynor.
David enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing with his great nieces and nephews.
He was a carpenter for 30 years, having worked for Larry Cheatham, Robert Sheppard and Curtis Patton.
In lieu of flowers, donate to Hospice of Virginia, P.O. Box 2098, Tappahannock, VA 22560. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 30, at 185 Old Bethel Road, Lancaster, Va. Please bring a covered dish.
