David B. Flester

WHITE STONE—David B. Flester of White Stone passed away peacefully, watching the river, relaxing in his favorite chair, January 9, 2022, at the age of 76.

David was born in Laurel, Md. on January 2, 1946, to Frances B. Flester and Frederick P. Flester.

David loved the water life growing up, boating with his father, “Buster” Flester, and coming down to White Stone Beach from Annapolis in the boat with his brother, Ken, before moving here permanently in 1963. He loved dogs, movies and football, especially the Washington football team.

David graduated from Lancaster High School, then on to VCU, graduating in 1973. While attending college he worked as a Virginia Beach Lifeguard and managed the Flying Cloud Restaurant. During the summer he would occasionally sit in with the Dynatones playing saxophone. He later opened his own CPA office and retired in 2020.

He is survived by his sister, Pat Beers; brother, Ken Flester (Dixie); nephews, Robert Grady Jr. (Jeanettte) of Katy, Texas, Mike Grady (Laurie) of Mansfield, Ohio, Jim Grady (Linda) of White Stone, John Grady of Columbus, Ohio, Ken Grady of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Kenny Flester of Heathsville; and nieces, Amy Masonis (Steve) and Cary Olmedo of White Stone.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Nancy F. Grady.

Services will be private.

Currie Funeral Home LLC of Kilmarnock handled the arrangements.
