The 2019 legislative session came to an official close Sunday, February 24, and I am pleased to report it has been a productive one, despite the national attention and disruptive protests.
I am proud to say that we passed a historic tax relief program already signed into law along with school safety reform, healthcare reform and amendments to our two-year budget.
This year’s amendments were made to the budget including $15 million in new money for broadband, $12 million in funding for school resource officers and increased pay raises for teachers. The budget amendment targeted investments to schools, public safety and broadband infrastructure.
