The Deltaville Deltas will begin their 2022 campaign this weekend, and Deltaville Ballpark will be abuzz in celebration of a major milestone.
This marks the 75th season of action at Deltaville Ballpark, reported Stephen Blue. Constructed in 1948, it is the oldest and one of only two remaining all-wooden ballparks in the state.
The celebration opens Friday, May 20, with jazz swing band Good Shot Judy taking the sandlot stage at 7 p.m. Fans are urged to bring their own seat or blanket to spread out on the outfield. Food, adult beverages, water and soft drinks will be available. Tickets for $15 for adults, $5 for teens, free for ages 12 and younger.
On Saturday, May 21, the stage comes off the field and the baseball begins….
