HARDYVILLE—On Friday, August 4, at approximately 5:18 p.m., James Roland “Jimmy” Pleasants, 79, of Deltaville was involved in a two-vehicle motor accident at General Puller Highway and Chick Cove Drive, reported Sgt. Michelle Anaya of the Virginia State Police.
Pleasants was a passenger in a 2014 Chevrolet Cruz traveling westbound on General Puller Highway, according to police reports. The vehicle slowed to make a left turn onto Chick Cove Drive when it was struck from behind by a 2004 Ford Focus. Pleasants was transported to Riverside Regional Medical Center with life-threatening injuries and succumbed to his injuries the following day, August 5.
The investigation is still ongoing, said Sgt. Anaya.
