LANCASTER—It has been over two years since Dominion Energy held an informational session at Lancaster High School to detail plans for the sprawling Merry Point Solar and Storage Project. Back then, plans called for construction to begin in spring 2023 with the project going online as soon as 2024.
Dominion representatives were back to update the public and the board of supervisors on Thursday, December 14, having recently submitted an application for the two projects.
According to business development manager Robin Lucey, the 100 megawatt solar facility and 50 megawatt battery storage facility straddle Mary Ball Road. Much of the southern portion stretches along Avis Trail while the northern portion runs east and west of Courthouse Road.
