Dominion Energy shares preliminary plans for proposed Merry Point Solar and Storage

LANCASTER—A team of Dominion Energy representatives on July 1 shared preliminary plans for a local solar project and gathered feedback from area residents. Some 50 residents attended the open house at Lancaster High School to see a map of the planned solar array, battery storage facility and share concerns with Dominion representatives about fire safety and the impact the project would have on the quality of life for those living around the facility.

Project area

An overview provided to attendees showed the sprawling Merry Point Solar and Storage project both north and south of Mary Ball Road. Much of the southern portion is along Avis Trail, while the northern portion runs east and west of Courthouse Road.
