Dominion withdraws massive Merry Point solar project application

LANCASTER—When first proposed in July 2021, the sprawling Merry Point Solar and Storage facility was intended to generate up to 100 megawatts (MW) of power at peak output, enough to power up to 25,000 homes according to Dominion Energy senior communications specialist Tim Eberly.

Now four years later, Dominion has officially withdrawn its application with Lancaster County, and the future of the project is uncertain.

The project area encompassed roughly 2,000 acres situated both north and south of Mary Ball….
