A celebration of Earth Day will highlight the season-opening Heathsville Farmers Market from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. April 20 at Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern (RHHT), 73 Monument Place, Heathsville. Sponsored by RHHT, the market will host over 60 vendors, plus a wine tasting festival.
A fleet of electric cars from Drive Electric RVA will make an appearance at the Earth Day celebration, reported RHHT executive director Corinne Becker. Other participants will include Northern Neck Master Naturalists, Northern Neck Native Plant Society, Northumberland County Anti-Litter Committee, Tidewater Oyster Gardeners Association, Rappahannock Wildlife Refuge and a number of other environmental-related organizations. The Earth Day celebration is sponsored by the Northumberland Association for Progressive Stewardship.
