The Middlesex Resolves will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 17, at the Colonial Courthouse, 202 Virginia Street, Urbanna.
The speaker will be historian Ed Ayres, formerly of the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation, reported Middlesex Museum president Marilyn South. Ayers will transport the audience to 1774, when brave freeholders gathered at this very location to stand against taxation without representation.
Discover how these local resolutions echoed across Virginia, igniting the spark of revolution, said South.
The event is sponsored by the Middlesex County Museum and Historical Society as a part of Middlesex County’s commemoration of the 250th anniversary of the American Revolution.
