The Lancaster County Virginia Education Foundation (LCVEF) on May 1 held its 10th annual Celebration of Excellence at Rappahannock Westminster-Canterbury in Irvington.
The Lancaster High School (LHS) students honored were selected by staff based on their grade level, grade point average and academic excellence, reported LCVEF board member Kim Seaver. For grades 9-11, five students with the top GPA were selected as well as two by teachers. For grade 12, 10 students with the top GPA were selected as well as two by teachers.
The teachers honored were selected by LHS students, said Seaver. Honorees were Angela Anderson, French; Evelyn Whitt, Spanish; Devin Carter, history; and Mark Gates, English.
