Education foundation to raffle theater tickets

KILMARNOCK—The Lancaster County Virginia Education Foundation will raffle tickets to “Broadway in Richmond” plays. The plays are “Les Miserables,” “Rudolph The Red-Nosed Reindeer,” “Wizard of Oz,” “Waitress,” “The Book of Mormon” and “Something Rotten.”

The winner of each raffle will receive four orchestra seats at a matinee performance at the Altria Theater in Richmond plus $100 in cash, said Margaret Socey.

Tickets are $10 each, $20 for three or $100 for 15. The tickets are available at Country Cottage, White Stone; Kilmarnock Antique Gallery and Union Bank & Trust, Kilmarnock; and Irvington Farmers Market and Objects, Irvington.

Tickets also may be purchased from board members Vera Lee, Jamilah Sawyer, Hazel Farmer, Lex Forrester, Eve Jordan, Bill Warren, Stephanie McClain, Julia Anderson, Susan Pittman, Kimberly Crockett, Emily Webb, Barbara Smith, Kim Seaver, Roman Cutler, Katherine Lantz and Socey; or call 438-6604.

Proceeds support foundation programs which include a third grade trip to Washington, D.C., an annual scholars dinner, teacher mini-grants and STEM programs, said Socey.
