Eddie was raised on the Coan River, and later in Wicomico Church where he was one of nine children. After the army, he married the love of his life, Connie, and they made Kilmarnock their home and started Dawson’s Ltd clothing store. They were a staple in the community for over 35 years, they cherished their patrons and many became close friends.

Eddie was a member of the Kilmarnock Volunteer Fire Department for close to 20 years and took great pride in running the bingo stand at the annual KVFD carnival. He was also a longtime member of the Lions Club.

Eddie was an avid boater and enjoyed entertaining his family and friends on his boat, the Punkin, especially for moonlight cruises. Many will remember how he cherished serving martinis to all his guests while chatting about old times. Eddie was a member of Morattico Baptist Church where he served on several committees.

Services were held Tuesday, October 13, at Smithland Baptist Church in Heathsville. The family received friends from 1-2 p.m. with the service following. A reception was held afterwards at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask that donations be made to Morattico Baptist Church and Smithland Baptist Church.
