Entire Lady Devils roster played in 38-22 win over Northumberland

Everybody played and the Lady Devils got scoring from eight different players in a balanced effort last Tuesday when Lancaster beat Northumberland, 38-22, in varsity girls basketball.

Skylar Sawyer scored nine points to lead Lancaster in the low-scoring outing.

Harmony Taylor and Skyler Henderson sank a three-pointer each in the first quarter when Lancaster took a 10-4 lead. Abria Jackson and Henderson put up four points each to lead six scorers in the second quarter when LHS went on a 16-6 run for a 26-10 lead at the half.

The Lady Devils held the Lady Indians to single digit scoring in all four quarters and limited NHS to three points in the third quarter on a field goal by Makhaila Bentil and a free throw by Ke’Najah Johnson.

Bentil scored a goal in each quarter to lead the Lady Indians with eight points.

Henderson added seven for LHS and Carli Henderson and Taylor finished with five each.

The Lady Devils remain unbeaten at 11-0 and will go to Colonial Beach tomorrow January 26. They’ll host Northumberland Tuesday, January 30.
