Essex, which beat Rappahannock, 59-48, to win the Region 1A girls basketball championship and earn a home berth in the Virginia High School League Class 1 state tournament, named two to the All-Northern Neck District first team and had its coach, Jonathan Mercer, selected as the regional coach of the year.
Seniors Morgan Self and Aryeon Robinson represented the Trojans on the first team, while EHS seniors Amani Brown and Isabella Anderson were named to second team.
Lancaster, which did not make the region tournament, filled one spot on the first team in sophomore Kelsie Cox.
