Essex led the All-Region 1A football team with five spots on the offensive first team and seven on the defense. Additionally, Trojans junior running back Kevin Dameron received one of the region’s two top honors as the offensive player of the year.
The honor squads were released last week following Riverheads’ 17-14 win over Essex in the Group 1A state semifinal. Riverheads will play Chilhowie Saturday, December 8, in the state championship game.
