Eva Ann R. Timberlake

Eva Ann R. Timberlake

KILMARNOCK—Eva Ann Robertson Timberlake was an open book—she never hesitated to share how she was feeling or what was on her mind. Her openness was something those who knew her loved about her. She could break the ice in any room, send any group into all-out belly laughs, and instantaneously make anyone feel welcome.

Her warmth and compassion were like an embrace, and she openly gave it. It should come as no surprise then, that she dedicated her career to helping others as a nurse. For decades, she was the first face that so many people would see when waking up after surgery in the recovery room at Rappahannock General Hospital. Her smile, her kindness, and her maternal instincts were readily on display and focused solely on taking care of others.

In her personal life, she was no different. She gave everything she had to her family, and worked her entire life to ensure they were taken care of. She was understanding, patient, nurturing and devoted. When it came to her children and grandchildren, she was always supportive and eternally proud—and perennially looked forward to Christmas each year, which she zealously began planning and preparing for starting each June.

Eva Ann passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2023.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jerry Timberlake Sr.; two children, Chris (Shannon) Timberlake and Brent (Elizabeth) Timberlake; three step-children, David Timberlake, Jerry (Trinia) Timberlake Jr. and Cindy (Legh) Ruthven; six grandchildren, Colby (Karah) Ruthven, Jarett (Taylar) Timberlake, Chris Timberlake Jr., Sam Timberlake, Caleb Timberlake and Sarah Grace Timberlake; two step-grandchildren, Maddie Wood and John Wood, three great-grandchildren, Ben Ruthven, Gabe Ruthven and Lila Ruthven; and brother, Lee Robertson.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Elizabeth Ann Barrack; and her father, Raymond Lee Robertson.

The service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 11, at Currie Funeral Home, 116 East Church Street, Kilmarnock. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Friends of the Northumberland County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 603, Burgess, VA 22432 (www.friendsncas.org/donate.html).
