WICOMICO CHURCH—Evelyn Blanch Butler Wiggins Conaway of Wicomico Church died January 14, 2017.
Mrs. Conaway was born December 25, 1914, to the late Clara Butler, who later married Walter Wiggins.
She was educated in the Lancaster schools and was a member of New St. John’s Baptist Church, Kilmarnock.
Mrs. Conaway worked at the Dry Dock Shipyard in Baltimore, Md. She also did domestic work and catered. She was an important fixture in homes of the Trible, Noblett, Rice and Dr. Robins families.
She was predeceased by James Jr., Melvin and Frances.
She is survived by daughters Sheila and Evelyn “Poo,” 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
A funeral was conducted January 28 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Wicomico Church, followed by interment in the Mt. Olive Cemetery.
