FREDERICKSBURG—The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) was scheduled to begin repair work on the Downing Bridge this week.
Route 360 over the Rappahannock River in the Tappahannock area will be reduced to one lane as of Tuesday, January 9, for approximately six weeks, reported VDOT Fredericksburg District senior communications specialist Darragh Frye.
Travelers can expect lane closures and brief delays on the Downing Bridge between Richmond County and the Town of Tappahannock from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. and 9 p.m-7 a.m., said Frye. Automated flagging devices will direct one-way, alternating traffic through the work zone.
Lane closures will not occur on weekends. Emergency vehicles will always be permitted to pass. Message boards will be posted….
