Expect delays

A $1.1 million Virginia Department of Transportation project to enhance safety, reduce congestion and improve mobility at Main Street and James B. Jones Memorial Highway in Kilmarnock was scheduled to begin on Tuesday. Crews will build a dedicated right turn lane from eastbound Main Street onto James B. Jones Memorial Highway to accommodate truck traffic. The project contractor is Graham Concrete LLC of Richmond. Weather permitting, work is expected to be complete by June 2025.
