Route 3 travelers can expect brief overnight delays in the Town of White Stone on the evenings of Sunday, June 9 and Monday, June 10.
Resurfacing work was recently finished on Route 3 approximately a half-mile north of the Robert O. Norris Jr. Memorial Bridge, and crews are returning to install new pavement markers.
Weather permitting, crews will install pavement markers on Route 3 between Old Ferry Road and Blueberry Point Road in White Stone from 7 p.m. Sunday, June 9 to 5 a.m. Monday, June 10; and 7 p.m. Monday, June 10, to 5 a.m. Tuesday, June 11.
Route 3 will be reduced to a single lane in the work zone at these times, with one-way, alternating traffic. Motorists will be guided through the work zone by a flagging crew, reported Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) public affairs manager Kelly Hannon.
