On a Wednesday in mid October about a year-and-a-half ago, I went into Lilian Lumber in Burgess where a young lady had set up a donation-drive table for the Northumberland County Animal Shelter. I came out of Lilian and thought I heard one of the volunteers talking about a blind dog at the shelter. I wanted more information.
A dog bowl from the shelter was accidentally left at the table so I offered to bring it back to the shelter with the ulterior motive of seeing the blind dog.
When the door opened, out walked one of the shelter volunteers with a black lab—the cutest dog named Po. Of course, I knew I wanted him, and that it would be….
