LANCASTER—According to the Virginia Department of Elections, primary elections won’t be necessary to nominate Democratic and Republican candidates for office in Senate District 4 or House of Delegates District 99, where there is no competition for the party bids.
In District 4, incumbent Sen. Ryan McDougle of Mechanicsville is unopposed for the Republican nomination to seek re-election in the November 5 general election. Stan Scott of Mechanicsville is seeking the Democratic nomination.
In District 99, incumbent Del. Margaret Ransone of Kinsale is unopposed for the Republican nomination to seek re-election. Francis Edwards of Weems is seeking the Democratic nomination.
Several local elected offices also will be on the November ballot.
