Crews from six volunteer fire departments in Lancaster and Northumberland counties responded Wednesday, April 1, to a fire at historic Lancaster Tavern & Inn in the Lancaster Courthouse Historic District. Upper Lancaster Volunteer Fire Department (ULVFD) was the first to respond at about 8:30 p.m. Responders remained on the scene for almost five hours. Responding to the call along with ULVFD were volunteer units from Kilmarnock, White Stone, Fairfields, Callao and Richmond County.
