Week of extreme weather

From sunny and high-80s on Wednesday, March 11, to rain turning to snow the very next day leaving more than an inch in the lower Northern Neck and disappearing within 24 hours. Snow fell (above) on the Great Wicomico River around 4:30 p.m. Thursday, March 12, where visibility was severely limited from Horn Harbor Restaurant. Torrential rains, high winds and the threat of tornadoes on Monday, March 16, preceded sunshine and seasonal temps on Tuesday, March 17. Welcome the first day of Spring, Friday, March 20.
