“From Deck to Dock” sale to offer plants made for the shade

The Northern Neck Master Gardeners (NNMG) will hold their “From Deck to Dock” plant sale from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. April 30-May 2 at Dug In Farms, 155 Fleets Bay Road, White Stone.

A large selection of plants, shrubs and ornamentals will be available for purchase. Extension Master Gardeners will assist customers.

“Nearly all plants will survive in a range of exposures, but knowing how much sun or shade a plant can tolerate allows you to plant the right plant in right place,” said NNMG Association president Marge Gibson.

“Plants that need part shade should receive no more than six hours of direct sun daily and afternoon shade is recommended,” said Gibson. “Full shade refers to sites that do not receive any direct sun during the day. We plan to have an assortment of shade loving and tolerant plants on sale.”
