Fundraising continues for upcoming LHS band trip

The Lancaster Band Boosters seek help to transport the Lancaster Red Devils Marching Band to the 2017 Taxslayer Bowl game. The band will perform in the half time show December 30 on the Jaguars’ Everbank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.

This will be the last band trip for director Rob Spiers who is retiring at the end of this school year, said band booster president Donna McGrath.

The Boosters have been asked by Spiers to cover the cost of the charter buses to transport the band and equipment, which has helped to lower the individual cost for each student who goes on the trip.

A benefit concert to help fund the trip will be held at 3 p.m. October 29 at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock. The concert will feature Lancaster graduate Willsonia Boyer, a soprano who performs both as an opera singer and concert artist worldwide.
