Members of the Cobbs Hall Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, are busy planning a combination bridge and mahjong fund raising event July 25 at the Bayne Center, Historic Christ Church, 420 Christ Church Road, Weems.
The event will start at 9:30 a.m. with coffee, tea and pastries. Play will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until a plated lunch is served at noon, according to Jo Ann Fickling, one of the event’s planners. Tickets are $25 per person.
Proceeds will support the Virginia DAR regent’s project, which is the underwriting of a conference room in Claude Moore Hall, Center for the Constitution at Montpelier, the home of James Madison, said Sue Woodard…
