KILMARNOCK—George Dallis Akers Jr., 76, of Kilmarnock passed away peacefully on August 5, 2025.
He retired from VPPSA in 2015 as a roll off truck driver and was a member of Irvington Baptist Church. He graduated from Lancaster High School in 1969.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Phyllis; sons, Stephen Edward Akers (Stacey) of Wicomico Church and George Akers III (Cathy) of Gloucester.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Dallis Akers Sr. and his mother, Virginia Covington Akers; his sister, Mary Akers Rose; and his niece, Shelia Elaine Akers.
Visitation for family and friends was held from 5-7 p.m. Monday, August 11, at Currie Funeral Home. A graveside service was held at 2 p.m Tuesday, August 12, at Irvington Baptist Church.
