George R. “Bob” Chilcoat

URBANNA—George Robert “Bob” Chilcoat, 82, of Urbanna, formerly of Lancaster, died January 28, 2019. He was born on February 27, 1936, in Muskogee, Okla., to the late George L. and Pearl B. Chilcoat.

Bob is survived by his wife, Roberta Dutile Chilcoat; sons, Rob of Tulsa, Okla., and Jeff of Corpus Christie, Texas; daughter, Emily Cook of Owasso; step-daughter, Emily Yetzer; grandchildren, Nathan, Chilcoat, Shelley Chilcoat, Malcolm Chilcoat, Will Cook and Reid Yetzer; and sister, Darlene Eaton of McAlester, Okla.

He was raised in Baton Rouge, La., and was a 1960 graduate of Louisiana State University. He enlisted in the Navy, rising to the rank of lieutenant before leaving after six years. His service took him to Long Beach, Cal., Key West, Fla., Charleston, S.C., and Norfolk. He served in the submarine service on board the USS Grampus.

Bob retired from IBM in 1994.

A reception was held February 2 at the Middlesex County Woman’s Club, 202 Virginia Street, Urbanna.
