There’s a new store in town where customers can step into a world of interesting textures, colors and behaviors, a store focusing on scales and gills with a few furry friends.

Georgie’s Pet Store, 84 South Main Street, Kilmarnock, will hold a grand opening Saturday, September 27, with light refreshments, raffle prizes and, of course, lots of creepy, crawly critters, fish and some fluffy bunnies. There will be a ribbon cutting at 1 p.m. Store hours that day are noon to 7 p.m.
The store opened in June and has been gradually adding to its inventory, according to owners George and Victoria Tuthill. They stocked mainly freshwater fish and home aquarium supplies to start, added reptiles, including snakes, chameleons, bearded dragons and leopard and crested geckos, last month and now have….
