Bring Christmas joy to local families. Donations of new and gently-used gifts are needed by Rice’s Hotel/Hughlett’s Tavern, 73 Monument Place, Heathsville, for their “Golden Village Christmas” event being held on Saturday, December 2.
During this annual celebration, the Tavern offers a special $1 children’s shopping area. Children ages 4 to 12 shop without their parents, paying $1 per gift for family members. Tavern “elves” even wrap and tag the presents so that everyone is truly surprised on Christmas morning.
This has become a well-attended popular event, but help from the community is needed to make it happen. All donations are gratefully accepted and there is a special need for men’s and children’s gifts. Donations may be brought to the Tavern Thursday through Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Tavern is also the home of the Tavern Café and “Heritage Arts Center” Gift Shoppe.
