
WICOMICO CHURCH—Gilliam Franklin Hall Sr., 90, of Wicomico Church passed away peacefully on September 4, 2025. He was born on September 27, 1934, to the late Filmore H. and Sarah Dodson Hall, and was a member of Wicomico Baptist Church.
Gilliam is survived by his grandson, Chris Hall; daughter-in-law, Barbara Hall; and many nieces and nephews who shared so many phone calls, visits, laughs and good times.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Shirley Mae of 68 years of marriage. He was also preceded in death by his daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Don Howard; his son, Frank Hall; and grandson, Billy Hall.
Gilliam and Shirley ran the James M. Booth Oyster House for eight years. They also had a lawn care business for many years and worked together. He worked for Waste Management for several years in Northumberland County.
Gilliam enjoyed life as he loved gardening, going to the oyster shore, fishing, boating, or just a visit from all his dear friends. He even loved taking care of his cat,“Trouble.”
A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 9, 2025, at Currie Funeral Home in Kilmarnock, with visitation an hour prior to the service. Interment followed at Wicomico Baptist Church Cemetery in Remo.
