Gloucester woman dies from injuries sustained in Christmas Day crash

KING & QUEEN—Virginia State Police Trooper S.P. Nix is investigating a two-vehicle crash in King & Queen County. The crash occurred at 3 p.m. December 25 on The Trail at Bagby Road.

A 2004 Buick Rendezvous was traveling west on The Trail when it ran off the right side of the road. The vehicle then came back into the roadway, crossed the centerline and struck head-on an eastbound 1999 Honda Civic, according to the police report. The impact of the crash caused both vehicles to overturn.

The driver of the Buick, Peggy K. Didlake, 74, of West Point was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment of minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt.

The driver of the Honda, Brianna N. Sulc, 19, of Gloucester was transported to Riverside Regional Hospital, Newport News, where she died December 29. She was wearing a seat belt.

Didlake was charged with reckless driving. Fatigue was a factor in the crash, reported VSP public relations director Corinne N. Geller.
