Gordon G. Fralin Jr.

Gordon G. Fralin Jr.

WHITE STONEGordon Godrey Fralin Jr., of Danville died August 5, 2020.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Frances; and brothers, Richard and David Louis Fralin.

He is survived by a sister, Mary Nickerson.

He died of natural causes at age 91 in his sleep at home and in the presence of his children, Gordon Lindley, John David and Rebecca Ann Fralin, their spouses, and his grandchildren.

He spent his many years of retirement overlooking the beautiful Rappahannock River in White Stone. He enjoyed most of these years with Frances Cannon Lindley Fralin, his wife and best friend of 50 years.

Gordon and Frances graciously entertained there and he kept the tradition going after her death. Together, we all had many, many days and nights of good food, lots of music, laughter and beautiful sunsets.

Moving to Arlington after their marriage, Gordon had an interesting and colorful career at CIA’s Langley headquarters. The family knows nothing, but he remembered those years very fondly.

His wife Frances achieved an international reputation as assistant curator of the Corcoran Art Gallery in Washington, D.C., despite raising their three children.

Gordon’s ashes are now next to Frances’ in the cemetery of Historic Christ Church in Weems.
