The Grace Church Yard Sale will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, May 6, at YMCA/APYC Camp Kekoka, 1083 Boys Camp Road, Kilmarnock.
“Come and celebrate with us a bountiful year of our community giving back,” said procurement and advertising chairman Judy Ripley. “Families and households, businesses and the whole community of Grace Church, Kilmarnock—this community has spent the better part of one whole year, collecting, sorting and pricing tons of items so that the entire area can celebrate its bounty and give back.”
Volunteers from schools, Scouts and many from the community who see what is happening and want to be a part of it all are participating, said Ripley.
“We have untiring volunteers and a great church that supports us,” she said. “From men with trailers who pick up endlessly at homes, to those who arrive at the camp after sorting through attics and garages. Families who divide up homes and decide to give it all to the yard sale because the community benefits. There is truly no greater focus than this.”
The yard sale will offer breakfast, food to take-home for dinner, treasures galore with great collectables this year, household items in White Elephants, pantry items, plants, outdoor furniture, tools, women’s and men’s clothing, children’s toys and clothing, a silent auction, jewelry, sporting goods and appliances.
“Remember, not one penny goes back to the church community,” said Ripley. “All this goes back to the nonprofits in our community. We feel so committed to making this community—our community—a better place.”
The event will be held rain or shine, she added.
