Grave marking ceremony slated for Veterans Day

The War of 1812 Society in Virginia on Monday, November 11, will conduct a ceremony unveiling War of 1812 grave markers of four War of 1812 veterans buried in the cemetery of St. Mary’s Whitechapel, 5940 White Chapel Road, Lancaster.

The ceremony will begin at 2 p.m., reported past president Mike Lyman. The public is invited. Direct descendants of the veterans are urged to attend and be recognized.

The veterans to be honored are:

• James Randall Ball, October 27, 1790-November 28, 1836, at Edgewood, in Lancaster County. He served as a surgeon in the 92nd Virginia Militia Regiment. He was married…
