Gridiron season ends for Red Devils

The Lancaster High School varsity football season came to an end on Thursday, November 7, when Colonial Beach stumped the Red Devils, 28-22. Noah Benson (19) makes the tackle in the season finale. LHS finished at 2-8 on the season and 0-5 against Northern Neck District teams for a ninth-place finish in the region. The top eight teams make post-season play, which begins tomorrow, November 15. Rappahannock, Essex, Westmoreland and Northumberland are all playing in the Class 1 first round. The Eagles will host the Indians, the Raiders will host King & Queen and the Trojans will host West Point. Middlesex will travel to Northampton. Kickoff is 7 p.m. Photo by Jennifer Benson
