Guitarist Larry Carlton and his band will open the Rappahannock Foundation for the Arts 2022-23 On Stage season September 10.
The four-time Grammy winner, who has played with everyone from Joni Mitchell to Sammy Davis Jr., will perform at 7:30 p.m. at the Lancaster Middle School Theater, 191 School Street, Kilmarnock.
In his show, ’78 Album: Steely Dan Remembered, Carlton will share songs and stories from his days as primary guitarist for Steely Dan. Those days included a memorable guitar solo on “Kid Charlemagne,” which Rolling Stone magazine calls one of the three best guitar licks in rock music.
