Lancaster/Northumberland Habitat for Humanity (L/NHH) is nearing completion of its 22nd Habitat home.
The house is a three-bedroom/two bath 1,100 square-foot dwelling, sited on a two-acre donated lot in Heathsville.
“We anticipate completion of Build #22 by August; the dry wall is going in soon, the back porch is built and the cathedral ceiling creates a great openness in the house,” said volunteer construction manager and board member Alex Mason.
Habitat will commence Build #23 by the end of the summer, said board president Eddy Whichard. “The family for Build #23 has already been selected and it will be built on a donated lot suitable for a three-bedroom home,” Whichard said.
In keeping with a long Habitat tradition, L/NHH is again hosting a dedicated “Women Build” day May 11 in honor of Mother’s Day weekend. Any women interested….
